Fat Grafting Pattaya : What Is Fat Grafting? (Fat Transfer / Autologous Fat Injection)
 
Fat grafting is a cosmetic procedure in which fat is taken from the patient’s own body (such as the abdomen, thighs, or hips), purified, and then reinjected into areas that need added volume or contour improvement.
Common treatment areas include the face, breasts, hips, buttocks, and depressed scars.

How Fat Grafting Works

• The harvested fat contains adipocytes and stromal vascular fraction, including stem cells that help rejuvenate the skin.
• After injection, part of the fat survives and develops a new blood supply.
• The portion that does not survive is naturally absorbed by the body during the first 1–3 months.

Types of Fat Used in the Procedure

1) Micro Fat
 • Standard fat particles
 • Ideal for cheeks, temples, breasts, hips
 • Provides significant volume
 
2) Nano Fat
 • Fat processed into very fine particles
 • Ideal for skin rejuvenation, fine lines, tear troughs, thin skin
 • Focuses on skin quality rather than volume
 
3) SVF / Cell–Rich Fat
 • Higher concentration of regenerative cells

Detailed Fat Grafting Procedure

1. Consultation & Assessment
 
The surgeon evaluates:
 • Areas requiring volume
 • Skin quality
 • Available donor fat
 • Facial/body structure
 • Medical history and allergies
 • Required fat volume
 
2. Fat Harvesting
 
Fat is gently removed using techniques that preserve cell viability, such as:
 • Manual liposuction
 • Syringe liposuction
 • Microcannulas
 
Common donor sites:
 • Abdomen
 • Inner thighs
 • Hips
 • Flanks

3. Fat Processing
 
The goal is to purify and isolate healthy fat.
Methods include:
 • Centrifugation
 • Gravity separation
 • Filtration
 
This removes fluid, blood, and oil—leaving clean, high-quality fat for injection.
 
4. Fat Injection
 
Fat is reinjected using small cannulas, layer by layer, to:
 • Ensure even distribution
 • Prevent lump formation
 • Promote blood supply to the transferred fat

Pre-Procedure Preparation

• Stop vitamin E, fish oil, and ginseng 7 days prior
• Inform the doctor about all medications and allergies
• Avoid smoking 1–2 weeks before and after (smoking reduces fat survival)
• Get adequate sleep
• Prepare compression garments if large-volume liposuction is planned

Post-Procedure Care

After Fat Injection:
 • Avoid pressing or sleeping on the treated area
 • Avoid heat (sauna, hot steam, thermal laser) for 2–4 weeks
 • Avoid heavy exercise for 1–2 weeks
 • Swelling usually improves in 7–14 days
 • Fat settles into final shape within 1–3 months
 
After Liposuction:
 • Wear compression garments as instructed
 • Avoid heavy lifting
 • Massage only if approved by the surgeon
 • Shower after 24–48 hours depending on incision closure
