Fat Transfer Phuket : Fat Transfer / Fat Grafting: What is it?  : Fat Transfer, also known as Fat Grafting, is a popular cosmetic procedure that moves fat from one part of the body to another to restore volume, contour, and correct imperfections. The process involves three main steps:
 
1. Fat Harvest (Liposuction): The surgeon performs a gentle form of liposuction to remove excess fat from a suitable donor area on the patient’s body (e.g., abdomen, thighs, hips, or buttocks). This is done using techniques designed to preserve the integrity of the fat cells.
 
2. Fat Preparation (Purification): The harvested fat is processed through centrifugation or filtering to separate and purify only the best quality, viable fat cells (which contain a high concentration of adipose-derived stem cells).
3. Fat Injection (Grafting): The purified fat is then carefully injected into the target area that requires augmentation or volume enhancement, such as the face (forehead, temples, under-eyes, cheeks, nasolabial folds), hands, or breasts. Where can fat be injected?

We can inject fat into every part of the body, including facial fat, breast fat, and hip and buttock fat.
 
The “face” area can be filled with fat in every part, such as filling the forehead (enhancing feng shui), filling in sunken temples, filling in upper and lower eyelids, filling in cheeks, deep nasolabial folds, facial contours, sunken cheeks, filling in the chin, filling in plump lips.

Preparation before facial fat injection

– Inform the doctor of any history of drug allergies, medications and dietary supplements taken, including any chronic diseases and surgical history. Bring any medications you regularly take for the doctor to assess.
– Stop taking blood thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen), vitamins A, E, C, herbs, ginseng, ginkgo, and fish oil 2 weeks before receiving the service.
– Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol at least 2 weeks before surgery to reduce the risk of infection and prolonged swelling.
– Injections should be avoided while the patient is ill, such as with a cold or fever, as this will cause the patient to be weak, potentially increasing the risk of facial fat injections.
– No need to fast
– You should shower, wash your hair, and clean your body thoroughly before surgery.
– Before the injection, avoid wearing makeup as it is difficult to remove before surgery to reduce the risk of infection.
– Before fat injections, patients should reduce their anxiety because fat injections to fill the face are not as scary as they think.

Behavior after facial fat injection

– On the first day after the fat injection, you should avoid or refrain from wearing heavy makeup or foundation.
– Before fat injection, you should get a full 8 hours of sleep.
– When resting, sleep on a high pillow for 2-3 days.
– Take all medications as prescribed by your doctor.
– Avoid exposure to extreme cold or heat, such as saunas.
– You should avoid drinking alcohol for about 3–7 days.
– Avoid strenuous exercise during the initial period.
– You should not touch your face hard or massage it for 7-10 days to prevent the fat that has been injected into your face from dissolving.

1. Be careful not to impact the area where the fat was injected. Fat is a living thing that needs to be cared for and cherished. If it is impacted, it may be damaged, bruised, or the fat cells may die.
You should not lose weight because your body will burn off unnecessary or weak fat first. The injected fat may dissolve quickly.
Quit smoking and avoid secondhand smoke, as the chemicals in cigarettes affect fat adhesion.
Avoid extremely hot and cold temperatures as these will kill the added fat. Avoid being in places with extremely cold or hot temperatures, such as soaking in onsen or saunas.
