Fat graft is the process of sucking fat from the body and mixing it with the separated fat to fill various parts of the body to be plump, such as the temples, cheeks, under the eyes, around the eyes, chin corners, forehead, etc., restoring damaged skin areas to be better, stronger, and look younger. What is facial fat grafting (FAT CELL)?

FAT cell is a science of skin rejuvenation. It is a filling similar to Filler. It is a filling with your own fat that is highly safe. The body does not resist. In addition, it contains cells that can restore skin cells to be youthful, fill in deep wrinkles, and adjust the facial structure to look younger. It can fill in every defect in the body, such as the face, wrinkles, cheek grooves, chest, buttocks, hips, etc. Because it is our own fat, it is not a foreign object and is not dangerous. In addition, cells can help repair damaged cells to look beautiful and younger. It is a way to move cells from our own body to transplant in a new place. It is considered a safe method and the results are immediate after treatment. It is accepted by many countries.

The Fat Grafting Process involves 3 main steps:

1. Fat Harvesting
• Donor Sites: Fat is usually harvested from areas with excess accumulation, such as the abdomen, hips, or inner/outer thighs.
• Method: The surgeon injects a solution (e.g., Tumescent solution containing local anesthetic and vasoconstrictors) into the donor area. Then, a low-pressure liposuction technique is used with a small tube (Cannula) to gently remove the fat, minimizing damage to the fat cells.
• Anesthesia: Depending on the volume of fat harvested, the procedure may be performed under Local Anesthesia or General Anesthesia.
 
2. Fat Processing/Purification
• Objective: To separate the pure, viable fat cells from unwanted components such as oil, blood, injected solution, and dead cells.
• Main Methods:
• Centrifugation: Using a low-speed centrifuge machine to separate the fat layers.
• Sedimentation/Decanting: Allowing the fat to naturally separate into layers.
• Washing: Rinsing the fat with sterile saline solution.
 
3. Fat Injection/Grafting
• Method: The purified fat cells are injected into the desired area using small syringes or cannulas. The fat is deposited as Tiny Droplets across multiple tissue planes and spread evenly. (This is crucial for fat cell survival), as it ensures each new droplet has easy access to blood supply and nutrients from the surrounding tissue.
• Recipient Sites:
• Face: Filling nasolabial folds, temples, cheeks, lips, under-eye areas, or for overall facial contouring.
• Breasts: Augmentation, reshaping, or correcting asymmetry post-surgery (e.g., after breast cancer treatment).
• Buttocks: Buttock enhancement (Brazilian Butt Lift – BBL).
• Others: Filling scars, correcting contour defects.

Advantages and Limitations/Risks ✅ Advantages:

Preparation before facial fat injection

1. Inform the doctor of any allergies to medications, supplements, and medications you take, including chronic diseases and surgical history. Bring your regular medications for the doctor to assess.
2. Stop taking blood thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen), vitamins A, E, C, herbs, ginseng, ginkgo, and fish oil 2 weeks before the service.
3. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol at least 2 weeks before the surgery to reduce the risk of infection and longer swelling than usual.
4. Avoid the injection period while the patient is sick, such as a cold or fever, because at that time the body will be weak, which may increase the risk of fat injection on the face.
5. Do not fast.
6. You should shower, wash your hair, and clean your body thoroughly before the surgery
. 7. Before the injection, you should stop wearing makeup because it is difficult to remove before the surgery to reduce the risk of infection.
8. Before the fat injection, the patient should reduce anxiety because fat injection to fill the face is not as scary as you think.

Fat Grafting Phuket

Behavior after facial filler injections

1. For the first 24 hours, avoid facial massage, applying cream, or lotion.
2. For the first 48-72 hours, apply a cold compress with a gel pack to reduce swelling.
3. You should sleep with your head elevated for the first 3 days to reduce swelling.
4. You should get enough rest, at least 8 hours.
5. Avoid spicy food, hot food, and pickled food.
6. Avoid alcohol and smoking to reduce the risk of infection and prolonged swelling.
7. Take your medication at the time prescribed by your doctor.
8. Come to have the stitches removed as scheduled by the doctor.
9. If there are any abnormalities or severe redness, return to see a doctor.
